hey guys i want to learn how to mess with body. (sanding, bondo, primimng and maybe painting.)

i was wondering if anybody here knew how to do this or has done it themselves. and maybe would be willing to teach me. i have the idea but i dun wana huck it up. so much help is apreciated.

ill pay $$$$

let me know.

or anyone got a web wit like pics that shows how to do such things?

thanks in advance.

I know how... and I'm preping my car for paint so... i'll teach you but you need to work yor *** off sanding down my car... by hand! lol

no problem. practice makes perfection. and i want to learn. just tell me where and what time dude. ill help you with your car that way ill learn all the basics to do my own.

let me know. also i got lots of tools that may come in handy like a sander....lol

its best not to learn with a sander unless you understand how the suface texture of bondo and metal change when you put sand paper to it. Use your hands and a flat block. DO a small section at a time so you can try new stuff or see how things are going with out doing the whole entire car then figuring out that your doing everything wrong. Read a book. The next time you have any questions about such an indepth topic that you wish to learn everything about, read a book. Id rather go off what an author says rather some guy that might have an idea about what hes doing. Im sure a painting book will have pictures.

do it yourself and just figure it out. Paint the car a couple times, do it over again, see what works.

and that sucked being in the passenger seat when that happened.

oh yea and just to make sure its not mistook... that WAS NOT a drifting caused damage. we had just installed an intake and went to do a pull on the highway when the rear tire blew out and the ply of tread went aroudn and aroudn and aroudn at 100mph hitting my 1/4 panel. scarey.

To much bondo... body filler likes to shrink when used in large amounts and that is not a good thing...

Anyway look at my work... those fenders had dents and the bumper used to have an indent where the nissan logo was... now it's impossible to tell were the repairs were made unless you pull the fender off and look on the inside.

Books while useful can only teach theory not application... most of what goes into quality bodywork is experence which is something I have and don't mind teaching.

too much bondo? are you serious? i used it just to cover little holes, i didnt just plum it on. I pulled all the pushed in parts out and hammered it and put like 2 layers of bondo and cheese graded it then sanded and finished with nitrostain damn n00bs. you couldnt even tell there was bondo on that 1/4 panel after it was done and painted.

I laugh at those big gallon tubs of bondo at the autoparts store... you need is a single small tub to do a complete car..

yes, it was all treated. nitrostain will not rust. the bottom part was beyond fixable repair for the body line if you werent able to notice in the first picture. and those pieces once pulled out are very weak, that is the best it was going to get without damaging it further. but like I said, it was a 2hr job, if you think you can do better in 2hrs, I have some dents on my car that aren't as bad, I am willing to pay you to come fix them for me.

EDIT: about the n00bs thing, it isnt directed towards you or anyone else as an insult, just implying it was the newbie thing to say something without knowing how much body filler was used and saying that it was too much.

hey bro my bad for jumping like that ...i just hate that noob crap

man thats a ugly dent you got though how did that happen....especially the lower one as for me to go help man i wish bro ,but i am in japan as of now not bad for 2 hrs atleast you didnt let it sit and get rust

I actually think you did an good job pulling the dents out dan but when you applied the bondo it was already way to firm.. you should be able to get it on and float it out before it starts to harden, working in a cool enviroment gives you more time to play with it.

no problem, i hate that stuff too.. tire dry-rotted on the highway at 100MPH, came apart, some stayed connected to the rim and spun around slapping the **** out of my 1/4 panels for about 1/4mile til i could slow down and pull over.. the black marks are the tire smacking it round and round and round lol

^ I understand I hated the stuff untill I got used to working with it... it's seriously a PITA untill you get used to it... I was lucky because I learned on other peoples cars... hehehe

damn bro your lucky i didnt wrap around and hit you in the face at least it was not an overkill of body damage ...but damn that tire wip your quarter panels ***
