Went to Georgia this weekend with Rob Deurscheidt for the NOPI qualifier in Cordele, and I came out number 1 in qualifying, taking the only NOPI license that they handed out.
First thing I want to mention is that if Rob didnt spin his quali runs, I am pretty sure I would have been second place, because he was nailing it hardcore a ALL DAY.
It still seems a little surreal because I wasnt expecting to get the license at this event. The car didnt even run until about 2pm saturday just before loading up, and I had never drifted the car with the new steering mods, turbo, tilton twin-plate, big wheels and tires.....
My biggest thank you goes out to Active Autowerke, without whom there is no way I could have pulled this off. Karl himself stayed late on Friday just to take care of my ECU tuning and gave me the power to do it right!
Also huge thanks to Shane (FlyinFINN) for helping me put the car together Friday night and Saturday, and also for being a huge help at the track!
Keep an eye out for the Red&Silver E36 at NOPI events this year, I plan to represent SFL and BMW drifting to the MAX!!!
