Polishing Wheels

Ok I saw that a few people here have done this before. I was originally gonna powdercoat but running low on cash, so this will work. Only thing that I sanded in my whole life was my old hatch. I need a how-to for dummies, also a list of supplies and how long it would take to do this right. Thanks in advance.

Now I'm not sure if it's paint powder coat
but if it's just paint get some tal strip aircraft paint remover and then just wet sand the rims with super fine sand paper
but don't hold me 2 it I might be wrong

ok if its a factory finish DO NOT SAND, get whats call Tal-strip II aircraft coating remover, u can get it at discount, that and a plastic spatula and a small brush with plastic bristles thats somewhat chemical resistent, i used a toothbrush lol, spray the tal stip in the shade and let it sit like the can says, the paint/clear will instantly start to wrinkle, then with the spatula and the tooth brush for tight spaces start scraping the goop, wipe away the exess goop with mineral spirits and reapply tal stip to the parts that didnt get stripped and reapeat, from ther u should have a nice smooth surface u can prob start polishing on maybe MAYBE like a 1000grit if its a little rough but it shouldnt be, o yeah polishing is fun :bigthumbu enjoy

I'm going to try that.....and yes they are p45r's so its factory paint....... I dunno how much of a bitch it is to get that stuff off but it seems like it could be hard...also what about this drill-bit polisher i heard about?? (i have mothers already)

try the stripper and try to not scratch the surface too much if it seems smooth and already semi polished , it will help a lot ... goosle how to polish alum , it takes a lot of patience btw.

the stripping is the easy part, this is right after spraying the wheel, after 10-15min most of it will be loose and come right off

and wear decent rubber gloves tal strip burns a little lol good thing is its water soluble :bigthumbu
