ok if its a factory finish DO NOT SAND, get whats call Tal-strip II aircraft coating remover, u can get it at discount, that and a plastic spatula and a small brush with plastic bristles thats somewhat chemical resistent, i used a toothbrush lol, spray the tal stip in the shade and let it sit like the can says, the paint/clear will instantly start to wrinkle, then with the spatula and the tooth brush for tight spaces start scraping the goop, wipe away the exess goop with mineral spirits and reapply tal stip to the parts that didnt get stripped and reapeat, from ther u should have a nice smooth surface u can prob start polishing on maybe MAYBE like a 1000grit if its a little rough but it shouldnt be, o yeah polishing is fun :bigthumbu enjoy
