oh, and marshall. your wheel still sticks out from your fender. It may look all sweet and awesome, but in my dads eyes, it looks like shit. So even though I want to go wider, its not going to happen.
thanks for the compliment, wasn't really going for that, what i was getting at is i have a shitty alignment up front, with wider tires, and more negative camber, my wheels would not stick out like that and be a perfect set up....
Hes not setting up my car from a book. hes setting it up based on his experiences and using books, talking to people, and internet sources to help make it more "driftable"
a staggared set up is NOT optimal for a "driftable" set up... i think he needs to get more sources than Import Tuner magazines and talk to some of the drivers who are actually at a pro-am level and up, that way he get's the info right from the source, and not some watered down info from people who THINK they know what they're doing...
Hes been building and driving cars for a long time. Hes helping me based on what he knows, and what he has read, and we're gunna go from there.
NOT good for drifting... tell him that....
Maybe after I start driving and if I get him out there we can adjust what we have and go from there
why waste the money "adjusting" THAT much, when you can get the basics down now, and have it ready for later, with just alignment/tire stuff to work out? doesn't make sense....
this is what she has to do to be able to get her car out there on the track. if this is the means to the ends then so be it. her questions is will they clear the brakes... and no they wont she will need spacers end of story. now after she gets out there like you said she can make improvments on the car as they go.. is it a waste of money yes...
we're just trying to help her out of the box, i know her personally (although we've had our differences), and she DOES want to drift, and take it to higher levels... she IS also restricted by her dad, as much as that blows ass, he needs to know the basics from people who know the advanced shit... so we're trying to help her...
but fuck it, if they got money to throw away on throwing parts at it to figure out what works, and completely ignore what they NEED... then well, it's on them....
final note, kelsey, you need to tell your dad he needs to review his ideas on a "drift car"... a hard parked drift car with mad tyte camber, and super low offsets, fender flares etc, is NOT a drift car... it can be drifted, but it's not what SHOULD be out there... look at all the pro cars... they don'e have any of that shit.. hell, a lot don't even have wide bodies...
those wheels will not clear the brakes, tell your dad to go back to the drawing board with his fitment/wheel ideas...
