Ok gonna be starting a motor on Thurs. nite. Couple questions.

how many times should I Prime the oil pump?

Where do I hook up the timing light once I get it started?

Crank it until the oil light goes away. crank has to last a few seconds. Make sure your oil pressure sending unit is pluged in:bigthumbu

well my cluster is all gauges now, nothing OEM. About how much pressure will it be putting out just cranking? thanks for the help Moe!!

i would say you want to see atleast 10-15psi before firing the motor. Thats roughly what the oil press light requires. And why hook up a timing light? If it runs correct?

^u still need to set proper timing to a motor!

Yeah j disconnect the cas and crank the motor over a couple secs. Get a good oil press. Reading like moe said 15-20 psi will be good. For timing since its a distributorless ignition u need a timing light attachment. I've got one. Call me and I can swing by with it.

The best way to get the timing perfect is like this:

You're welcome.

Arn't you with Aero-K?

yes sir he is, hes just had bad luck with his own motors so he wants everything to be done correctly. The motors been sitting without oil for quite some time, so he wants to make sure its properly primed with oil before something goes bad when started.

Thats exactly how I timed it, I just wanna be sure when its running too double check, thanks guys! Tomorrow is crank up day!!:bigthumbu
