Pat... man. I hate to say that if you had had more test time with Falkens and known you needed a smaller size it woulda helped your situation. Hell, if I had gone with my car there, I'd have 235 and 245 sets of Nexens. Its all sweet to have the maximum grip when you KNOW its not too much. Having to fight the car in a slide is just ridiculous and I've had to do it myself when somethin isnt working/car is down on power. Its like you have no control over shit. And driving the wet at PBIR didnt give you a great feel for the grip/power ratio- not to mention its not a bank, and sideways speed is slower at PBIR in the turn. I'm pretty sure that if you went back, you'd go with smaller tires (if rest is the same) and have much less trouble.
last year my compaint isnt the bank for matts driving, its the straight (2nd) clipping cone. yea it might be gnarly transition, but his angle was almost non-existent. he got lucky im saying. he didnt 'out drive' someone as much as just didnt spin. i know that means he drove better, but you know what i mean- beating someone with both having clean runs- actually out drifting them.
as far as being competitive and vs 100k$ cars, yea no one is expecting him to smash the competition and its sweet when the underdog comes out. i think the tone here is that he is way hyped for someone who doesnt smash them. JTP is similar status (when he drove his rx7) and he was actually throwing down constantly.
I dont hate on matt, just his overblown hype. If he wasnt so bro-loved, id have no issue.
