that was soo tight... i found this on another forum:
The weight I found for this engine(1UZFE) + an R154 is 486 lbs
Weight + W58 is 466 lbs.

Another website has weight alone as 470 lbs
does anyone know wut an F20C weighs for comparison...

Alot less than that lol

somebody on another forum said f20's weigh in the 350-380lbs range dont know if its accurate but its not too far off an u cant beat the price or torque and u can add BOOST with less money....I might have to go car shoppin soon...lol

F20C costs like 3-4 times what you can buy a 1UZ for....
....0_o....idk about that

+ rear end u need to buy....because hp doesnt kill these rear ends....tourqe does

alot of work and alot of weight......and aftermarket support u cant compare....

If you know where to look it really isn't that expensive. There is aftermarket support (mostly in Australia and New Zealand though). After a little research there are 86s with 1UZs in rally, road racing and now drifting. The weight isn't that much more but what doesn't help is the tranny(5spd R154). So if you do have to add weight at least it comes from pretty much the middle of the car. The key thing for the swap is getting that bellhousing adapter to make it a 5spd. You also get to stay all Toyota and n/a too :) .

The thing that will add money is the new set of rims and tires you need for the power and torque lol.

Annnnnnnnd buying my rear end for like a bajillion dollars

Nah, seriously, just get a Celica rear. Oh and since the Corolla is so light, it wont ever make enough traction to even come close to breaking a R154 so I think a W57 would be the best trans for that swap. Hell, I dont know if an R154 would even it fit in the Corolla tunnel....

im pretty sure it wont....and coming from a person thats caught a 58 to the chest...ill tell you....its heavier

Well, I'm sure you can fit a r154(even though that thing is big lol) in there but it'll probably force you to cut the tranny/firewall tunnel and supposely thats not allowed in some bigger drifting events. You also may do something similiar to what Mr. John did with the spacers but it might be too extreme for the suspension geometry. I also agree with the w57. The rally ae86 I read about had that tranny and the company sponsoring it made the bellhousing adapter. If anything all the carbon fiber should even out the weight ;) . This engine setup has already been proven to work well. So that helps.
