What makes a good drift car?

Well, when you get good, you'll run at full lock and wish you had more steering angle. That's always a problem. Chassis rigidity is important too (a roll cage works wonders). Cooling is always an issue on a drift car since you aren't going really fast and run the car at high rpm's sideways (meaning less air for your radiator).

Yeah, Chassis rigidity seems like it would play a big part. Strut bars do help the suspension but if im not mistaken they also help hold the chassis together in turn improving the rigidity of the chassis.

Actually there is something else. Make your interior comfortable to your standards. You want to enjoy your car as much as possible.

I would upgrade the steering wheel, shifter and seats on the S13. The stock seat is garbage when the G's kick in.

These mods in no way make you car better for drifting but if your not comfortable in the car you'll never enjoy it.

Yeah like DD said rigidity is an issue but not yet you need to be experienced to actually make your cars chassis feel the abuse of drifting.

Stitch/spot welding then comes into affect also.

And interior upgrades do help too... if you dont feel comfortable in your car then that can affect your performance as well. Close steering wheel and more leg room do help. The more comfortable you are the more endurance you got.

i hate this thread

Whats wrong with this thread M4nfred? Whats so wrong with someone trying to gain more knowledge as to whats happening with his car and what helps get the car sideways?

Don't take Man4red too serious bro, he used to be like you asking questions, and knocking the SR20DET and glorifying the KA24DE, then look he got a blacktop SR20DET. The only thing you should take serious is yourself.

Im not knocking the SR... its a popular choice, but the KA has those .4 extra liters. Makes a difference in the power band hance why i wanna stick with it. And besides... theres nothing wrong with wanting to know more. I just would have appreciated more people asking questions too, not just myself and MasterRex. Oh well.

dont knock on me cuz i dont like ka-t's, honestly, i think the ka is a better motor in the begining to learn, ok, but not boost, imho an all motor high comp ka woulld be my favorite. i got the sr cuz i had a chance to, and im sure if most of u had the chance, u would too, i just dont like the idea of a non built motor on boost, and im willing to sacrifice torque and hp for alot of reliability. and master rex, ....STOOOFOOO N00B, -_-'

^^^ I didn't. ^^^
I don't even like KA-t's J/K I was just saying we all grow up and learn new things and change as well. It's part of life I would take an SR over a KA too so don't take me the wrong way.
