bro that's not that bad lol

Basically insurance will give you two or three claims.

1st(If they deem it still roadworthy): You keep the car, they give you a check for repairs, usually something like $500-800 for cars pre 97.

2nd: The car is taken and considered unroadworthy and they hand you a check for something like $2500

or 3rd: You keep the car and they hand you a Certificate of Destruction meaning your car isn't allowed on the road any longer and they give you like $1500-2000 but you can still strip everything still good out of it and put it in another car you buy with the cash they give you.

I say go with the 3rd option, find an E30 for cheap thats not running, swap everything and have some pocket change to get some hellatyte mexiflush wheels.

im hoping for that 3rd option... :) Fuck the E30 im puttin the hatch back on the road

state farm is a pretty good ins company, i totaled my old car and the other guys ins (state farm) not only gave me money for how much the car was worth on kbb, but they also threw in money for a rental car( i didnt even rent a car and they gave me the money anyway!) they also added money for title transfer fees, and registration fees and all that shit, i ended up getting a near 5000 check for a 3000 dollar car

ohh and on top of that they gave me the option of after giving me the check if i wanted to keep the car with a rebuilt title i only had to pay them i think like 2 or 300 bux and i could keep the car

When you go to get an estimate, tell them you don't want to total it. So try and get the closest dollar amount to it being totalled, but you get to keep the car. I've had to do that before.

edit: just to put this into perspective, I got like $2500 to fix an '87 Rx7 turboII.

with most people saying they have or known someone who had a totalled vehicle and the insurance let them keep it without payment or a lesser check, means your missing another option.

i can vouch for this being incorrect. they hand you a rebuilt title and the full amount of the car being totalled

anyway, with minor front end damage like the op had, this is seriously not gonna be considered totalled, imo

Thanks for the info guys

Just got off the phone with State Farm. They set me up with a rental and an appt. to take my car to Maroone Ford's body shop in Ft. Lauderdale to be appraised and/or repaired im guessin if all goes good... we'll see how this goes

Hope all goes well. If your standing there with the appraisor act emo as shit. Like Omg this is my life. I can't pick up chicks with this lol. Work the person not the damage. They pick the number, always remember that. And what's the chances of you ever seeing them again.....

Really? The one thing I know for sure is correct? Because I'm positive I just did this with my brothers 93 Integra.

If they don't think its roadworthy they let you keep the car and give you a certain B.S. estimated amount or give you a couple hundred more if they take it.

I went to the dealer today dude said there was a good possibility of it being called a total loss due to the cost of the repairs meeting that percentage... still waiting on the estimate and final verdict
