Hello everyone,
here just got back to South Florida and been very busy lately, came back to check out the sfldrifters website awesome i can see the community has increase alot.
Yeah since i sold most of my rides for autoX/autocross, im starting to jump on a car project for drifting now my budget will be no more than 4k usd.
so First i wanna choose what car will be a great for me to start learning drifting, i wanna get a good strong solid bottom car to learn getting experience and work my way up for drifting.
so far, i know 4k usd isnt enough to buy a car ready for drift but at least i wanna get a car to start changing and upgrading the car performance little by little till its pretty much ready to hit the road and tackle some corners and turns.
What Car make and model will be good for noobies to learn drifting, here is a list of cars that im thinking to find and purchase 1:
1. Toyota 1985-1987 Corolla Gts or SR5, but i think best GT-S style preference " Hatchback Style " if not i will have to take the Coupe one
.
2. Nissan 240SX 1989-1991, style preference "Hatchback style" if not i will have to take the Coupe one
3. Mazda Miata, i heard is an awesome car for drifting the Miata dont know much info what best year will be, but i heard the tackle pretty good in the corners sliding sideways.. dont know much info about it. but for Miata Lovers explaint me if its a good car to start or expensive as fvk ><!
Well.. my most weapon of choice to start fresh drifting i think i will have to pick the Toyota Corolla GTS AE86 hatch. swap the engine for a 20V. 4AGE Motor Blcktop AE111 (11.1x1 Compression Ratio.) w/ dual Carb Webers .
Im tired of Turbo upgrades i wanna have a good nice aspirated motor non turbo with a strong power like 250hp+ on the wheels and a nice lightweight car like the Corolla Gts 85-87.
my choice is that i wanna go for NO turbo class car cuz i will be spending alot of $$$ if i go turbo , i just wanna go non turbo with nice high compression Ratio like the AE111 black top 20v. 4age with dual Carb Webers on a nice Corollita 85-87 5spd hatch.
Still i wanna know my good options i wanna start smart and not spending crazy mad money to obtain a badazz car with poor bad drifting, i wanna get my feet wet on a nice cheap low maintenance car class not go too crazy till ofc i gain more experience on my drifting driving.
4k usd so far to buy a good car or cheap car with blow motor
and buy straight up a 20v 4age motor black top , new tires, brakes, shocks and clutch.
so Let me know guys what car is best to start training for drifting should i go Corolla and work my way up for a better car till i gain full experiences of how to control and drift .
p.s. I dont wanna go Turbo at all. only full aspirated motor only.
