"Yeah, I drift too" stories

I do remember 1 from back in the day... this is from wen SFLD had just started, we all knew a guy who used to tell us some amazing stories bout how he used to rally a car wen he was younger, going through gears at awesome speeds and that he was a good drifter... but in the 1st Hialeah event I went to I saw this guy just throwing him 4 door box to a corner and that was it... he couldnt finish it or link a corner... later he got better but the best part was that wen he made his car 5 speed he diodnt know how to drive stick... so wat happened to those awesome stories bout him doing rally and going through gears like a pro? we all though it was very funny... oh well, i meet tons of people that feel they have to lie to make friends or look cool. maybe at the next meet I'll tell a better story from my shop.

YO ON THE REAL IM GLAD THATS NOT ABOUT ME CUZ I GREW UP DRIVING STICKSHIFT SCIROCCOS IN THE MOUNTAINS SLAMMING THROUGH GEARS LIKE TAKUMI DAD THIRD GEAR AND SHIT BWOOP BWOOP!!!

the going to even thing not everyone can. with my work and the over head to live i cant make it dose it make me less of a drift fan/drifter. someone can go to every event and smash a new car every time cuz they got the money. that dosnt make them a drifter just someone who for a short time in there life want to do the cool thing.

my view on drifting is the same as every motor sport i watch its the love of the cars and the people. so even if i suck at what ever i do the love for it will be the same i wouldn't down rate myself. when it is said and done noone is a drifter your just passionate for the sport.

on the street or on the track we are all "Car Crazy" or else we wouldn't participate

No.
You arnt a drifter until you come to events and like keep coming and have a desire to learn.

Not some wood pecker communist mother fucker that goes street sliding and calls themself a drifter.

Street drifting isnt drifting. Its a socialist plot to take over the streets and ruin drifting for people from Finland....then Harri would have to bench press all of the socialist to keep them from stopping drifting. Then He would arm wrestle an orangutan.

SIR.... I AGREE 110% YOU SHOULD RUN THIS FORUM...

that's like saying skateboarding should only be done in skate parks

It should. People own shit. What if some kid starts making ollies off your hood. It'd be cool wouldn't it?

Buildings are someone's property too. Some companies pay good money to keep it looking clean.

Pros and Cons of drift events:

Pros:
Safety
Room to learn
People to help you
more seat time
avility to try new things like racing line, and different entries.

Cons:
small fee

IMO, attending event beats the crap out of street drifting. I will like to point out to the guy saying he has street drifting since before events, that he has not improve at all...lol... There has been drift events in FL since early 04 from tertech to DG trials, in one day drifting at Ocala GP I learned more than 3 months hitting spots. Like Jason said before, is some dude tells you a drift story nod your head and act like you have never heard of drifting before.
